Managing Music In One Or More Rooms

When beginning to play music, enabling the same audio stream in multiple rooms is easy. In just a couple presses, you can have the same music playing in as many rooms as you like.

  1. Start by listening to your preferred music in your current room:
    1. Check the room you’re currently in, and select “Listen.”
    2. Select a service.
    3. Select a station to play
      1. Music will begin playing
      2. You will be on the station menu, with immediate access to volume, play/pause/stop, skip, etc.
    4. Select the Room Add icon in the top right corner of the station menu.
    5. Select the rooms you want to play music by checking the rooms.
      1. When playing audio in multiple rooms, volume can be controlled per room by moving the associated slider, or all the sliders can be moved simultaneously by moving the “master slider” at the top of the menu.
      2. For systems with a lot of rooms, the filter icon at the top of the screen can be used to only show rooms that are currently listening to the current audio.
    6. Select “Done” when finished.

  2. When you need to control music from the Favorites Menu (like after closing the app, or navigating away from the station menu), room level changes can be made from the “Now Playing” feature at the bottom of the screen.

    1. The “Now Playing” menu can be expanded by tapping on the menu.
    2. The complete station menu can be accessed by tapping on the album cover for the current music in the “Now Playing” menu.
    3. From the expanded “Now Playing” menu, the room add option can be selected from the bottom left corner.
  3. To manage multiple rooms and multiple different audio streams, the “Sessions Menu” can be used for quick changes.
      1. If audio or video is playing anywhere in the home, the Sessions icon will appear in the top right corner of the Favorites Menu.
        1. The Sessions Menu shows all audio/video streams currently active.
      2. Selecting the Room Add icon allows you to add/remove rooms for the selected source
      3. Select the Room Dropdown, allows you to see all rooms playing a particular source and adjust volumes and turn off rooms.
      4. Selecting the Power icon in the top right corner of a particular session allows you to turn it off and all the associated rooms.
      5. Selecting the Power icon in the top right corner of the screen turns off audio and video in all rooms simultaneously. Perfect for when you are leaving for the day, or going to bed for the night.
